I don`t think that letting him CIO will help his separation anxiety. I believe it is normal at this age. You should reassure him that mommy is there and is not leaving him. He may be sick, teething, lonely, etc. You never know, but just letting him CIO will not be healthy for him. Make it a game for you to leave and come back. Play peek a boo, either hiding behind a wall, or a blanket or something. Say `bye bye mommy loves you` and hide and come right back. Or if he is crawling, let him come and find you. If you are doing something and need to be away for a moment, talk to him while you are out of his sight so he knows you are still there.

I am in your boat all the way. My son is the samehe is 12 months and I swaer the umblical cord is still attached. I have started putting him in a safe place for two minutes as this is the longest I could stand to hear cry as it hurts me more than him and I walk away before I do I tell him mommy loves you and I will be right back. I then leave his sight and let him cry and then come back and love him and then do it after 15 minutes or so again. He still is veryanxios though so let me know what you come up with too. I thought it was only my son that was this anxious over mommy stepping out of the room!

Assure him that mommy will be right back, and let him cry while you do what you have to do. When you come back be really playful with him for a few minutes. He`ll get used to you going and look forward to you coming back.

he probably has seperation anxiety, my son was like that whenever i`d walk away from him, until he was like 2... I didn`t do anything just waited it out.

leave him to cry 4 a while it makes u feel alful but it does work hun x
