4thonitsway (1054.7 days ago) all my kids were allegic to desitin and balmex but a&d ointment (they were allegic to zinc oxide)worked great, as for teething, my friend who has 9 kids recommended letting baby chew on a slice of raw onion(said it was an old mexican trick lol) and it helped my LO out
missyv28 (pink) (1054.8 days ago) Air drying works best for our household. My MIL uses burn cream with Zinc but I have never used any diaper rash stuff...we just air dry...
Bek 30 (1054.8 days ago) My daughter had a terriable rash from teething, some parts also blistered and I thought that was normal and if I used the right diaper cream it would be ok...WRONG. I ended up seeing the dr about it and he put her on a zinc cream for the day and at night Advantan cream ( which is only prescibed, can not be bought over the counter) and seriously the next day after using it, the rash had disappeared and the blisters had gone down dramatacally, withinin 2 days the blisters were totally gone. Now I only have to use it when she is teething.
marli (1054.8 days ago) I know it might be a little scary but let her air butt air out. My son had terrible diaper rash due to salmonella. Our ped. told us to lay him down on his tummy without his diaper and let it air dry. It worked (on top of lots of diaper creme).
LKLmama (1054.8 days ago) why the heck are you not using cloth dipes yet?? hehe Kara hasnt wore a diaper in a few weeks and the prefold and cover I used were ment to only catch a miss.. But thirsties covers are great.. prowraps are good cheeper covers... I dont know much about all in ones.. they were way to bulky for kara.
Lookalike (1054.8 days ago) My mom used cloth diapers on me and whenever she knew I had already gone, she would let me run around naked in the kitchen for a while. Cloth diapering is not that big of a deal if that`s what you want to do. You should stock up on about 30 or so indian or chinese prefolds and about four liners such as Thirsties or Bummies. Get yourself a lidded diaper pail and a spray bottle. Soiled diapers should be dumped in the toilet and sprayed down with a water and vinegar mix, about three parts water to one part vinegar. Also spray down the wet diapers and keep them in a tightly sealed pail until you do laundry. For laundry day, only wash the diapers together and use regular laundry detergent unless that starts to cause rash, if that happens you can use Dreft for baby clothes which is hypoallergenic or you can just use a scoop of baking soda and a downy ball of vinegar which you don`t really need if you use the vinegar solution to spray down the diapers.
lovefranky (1055.1 days ago) I used a thick layer of BALMEX and it worked. Desitin works too. When i tried cloth diapers my baby got rashes bad. Huggies Supreme natural fit are the Best diapers. So sorry for your little one :(
My5Babies:) (1055.2 days ago) I have also done the browned flour. Lots of air drying also.
Austin::and::Alexs::Momma (1055.2 days ago) I`ve been told teething itself can cause diarrhea and I seen a couple ladies on here post the other day to take white flour and brown it, let it cool then apply it on your LO`s behind for bad diaper rash...Hope she`s feeling better soon!
