sounds like my first, i slept till I was a 9 (7 hours) then my second was a four hour labor with one push, my 3rd was a 10 hour labor 3 pushes, I assumed my 3rd would besuper fast since it was faster each time, but my 3rd didnt want to come out at all. so really theres no way to know for sure

hehe, that is kind of funny. Some of us just dialate faster than others. I FELT my first contraction at 730 am and i barely had enough time to get to the hospital. NO epidural either. I pushed 4-5 times and he was out. It was pretty much the same with my second although I was more prepared and as SOON as I felt my first contraction, I went in so I got my epidural...hehehe I`m pregnant again now and desperately hoping for the same.

My 1st was a piece of cake too. Easy labor (6 hours), out in 3 pushes as well, no meds. 2nd baby I had to be induced and though it was a shorter labor (4 hours), the labor was more intense. Still no meds though. 3rd was extremely painful, very difficult and almost unbearable (induced but that time with pitocin). Still natural but really hard. I think theyre all different.

Thanks for all your comments. Believe me I felt more than a little guilty when I got to hospital and there were women going through 24 hour labours then having to have c-sections etc.

My second labor was quicker than my first and I pushed only 5 minutes with #2 (30 min with #1). I know a woman at church who with each baby it was SUPER fast labor. Baby#1-barely made it to the hospital Baby#2-had it at home because she couldn`t make it Baby#3-Had it on the bathroom floor Baby#4-they induced her so she`d have it in the hospital. All her babies were/are healthy though......... I`d probably get educated on home/self birthing just in case,but talk to your doctor about your options:)

Normally second labours are shorter than first. But its not true for everyone, so really theres no way of knowing! I wish I`d slept through my labour!!!! lol
