I agree, only for high risk pregnancies. Or if your morning sickness is too bad, it tends to ruin the experience for everyone involved if you throw up in the middle of it! :-)

I had a high risk pregnancy. My doctor told me not to have sex as much as possible. He said when a woman orgasms it makes the uterus contract and spasm. Very bad for incompetent cervix. Straight from my doctor`s mouth. I am sure if it was a healthy pregnancy it would be perfectly fine.

mm. never heard that one before for a regular pregnancy. I know my sister couldn`t b/c of placenta previa, but that was for the whole time if the placenta didn`t move up. Luckly, her placenta did move up over time.

I always avoid it because I know that they tell people who`ve miscarried previously to avoid it for the first trimester. I guess I feel like, what if this pregnancy is risky and I just don`t know it yet? What if there`s a chance I could miscarry? There`s always that possibility when you`re pregnant. So I just would rather avoid it then risk that something happens and I could never forgive myself. I know it`s probably just a silly old wives tale but I just feel safer that way.

The only cases where it`s advicasable to avoid sex (as far as I`ve heard) are high risk pregnancies or where a woman has a history of miscarriage...
