scaredmommy (212.9 days ago) Our daughter`s name is Brea and we have people we don`t know pronouncing it wrong all the time. We pronounce it like the word Idea. I think Roan looks better and more unique. To me Roan and Rowan are pronounced the same the only difference might be that people would stress the w in Rowan and the o in Roan.
hiddenkitten (217.5 days ago) I like it spelled ROENN :)
Mumbo (218.5 days ago) To me, they are very different sounding names, like Jenakers, Roan to me would be pronounced like Joan with an R, whereas Rowan is pronounced as it sounds... Just for ease to your child for the future, if you wanted the child`s name to sound like Rowan, I`d spell it that way.
youngbaby (218.6 days ago) I agree with lovefranky, `Rowan` seems feminine. Id go with Roan.
scaredmommy (218.7 days ago) Rowan is Gaelic meaning little red head. Roan is the variant of Rowan. It is a very rare boys name. Roan is more rare than Rowan. Both are pronounced the same as far as I know.

This is an image of a Roan tree which is pronounced just like the other spelling. Roan is also a color.
lovefranky (218.8 days ago) I think Rowan in feminine, but it would be cool for a boy spelled Roan.
jenakers (218.8 days ago) Roan in my head sounds like Joan with an `R` Rowan sounds like R-ow-an. The spelling changes how it sounds to me. I`m not sure which sound you are going for.
NeverPreggers (218.8 days ago) Roan is a tree, I would spell it like the tree
