Name-poll poll I was at Zellers today and saw `training` bras for girls, YOUNG girls( as in girls without breasts) Does anyone else find this disgusting and disturbing?

I have no problem with training bras. I`ve been letting my daughter wear them for a couple of years (she`s almost 10 now). She wanted them and has gotten used to wearing them which is good because now she needs a bra or tank. I thought the padded ones were totally unnecessary - until my daughter came to me this morning and told me she had to put on a tank AND a bra to cover up her nipple bumps from showing through her shirt! A slightly padded bra should take care of that no problem. I`m proud of her for being so modest!

NO, this is not disgusting. if it makes a girl feel more comfortable, why shouldnt she wear it? girls need to learn from a young age to feel comfortable and good about their bodies, and if a girl wants to wear a `training bra`, not a sexy lacy push up bra, then they should. i remember i wanted one when i was young and had no boobs. some of the girls in my class wore bras and needed them, so i was more conscious of my breasts too, and even though i didnt have boobs, i still had nipples and didnt want them to show through my shirt or anything if i was cold.... i felt uncomfortable without it.

I used to have one - I remember how `grown up` i felt ;) really it was just like a very cropped tank top

My best friends daughter started developing breasts and wearing a training bra at 8 years old. She is almost ready for a real bra. I do agree with California Mom. Anything sexy or padded is just disturbing. And thong underwear for children, that`s just, no.

Yes when the bras appear to be `sexy`. Anything padded, even if its a little is freakin weird. Training bras are appropriate WHEN NECESSARY.

in this case I prob wudnt need bras even tho i`m 19. and remember even if they dont have `boobs` it can get cold out.x

I don`t think that is sick at all. It`s a `training` bra. I remember being little and couldn`t wait to get a training bra even though I had no boobs.

As a teacher, I am always amazed at how many parents don`t notice their own children developing and dress them appropriately. Iw would prefer to get my girls a training bra than to not have them need one and not have it.

I see nothing wrong with it..they are going to evenutally be wearing them anyway..just dont put them on your little boys lol. And yes thong underwear for little girls is very disturbing!

some little girls just need them. my daughter was born w real chubby breasts. the dr said it was just from hormones. yrs went on, they were alllways there. so, now she is 9 and clearly needs a bra under her clothes since she was 8, because of their sizr and because you could see her nipple area thru her shirts.

I don`t think bras are sick for little girls. I mean to me it`s the same as an undershirt for little boys. The thong underwear is sick though.

I wanted a training bra really really bad even though i did not have boobs as a girls so I could see where a little girl would want them. Plus Ist 2009 and nothing really surprises me. I do remember a few years back , I forget the clothing company but they were making THONG underwear for little girls, now that is sick!!

My daughter is nine and has a couple of training bras. It was totally her decision. I brought her shopping at the beginning of the school year, and when I was picking up some vests for her, she begged me for a training bra instead. I don`t see the harm in it. I developed early, and if my daughter is anything like me she`ll be wearing real ones in a couple of years anyway.

  1. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  2. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  3. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  4. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  5. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  6. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  7. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
  8. MODS ~ please help me in monitoring the photo pages and other pages. Horrific porn was posted in photos sections and they need to be deleted as soon as they are seen. I reported it to Laura also. TX!!
  9. my 4 yr old has 3 planter warts on his foot,.. any home remedies gals or is this a dr visit?
  10. ok ladies, sry its long but i really need some advice, a year ago my 5 yr old brother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, over the last year my mom has had a hard time dealing with his diagnosis because there is no cure and all she can do is give him 5 insulin shots a day to keep him alive, she looks at it like march 13th 2011 was the death of her healthy little boy and she woke up with this sick child, well i always tell her she needs to go to counseling to learn how to cope with this but lately i`m more worried about my baby brother, he came home the other day from kindergarten and had a picture of a red headed boy with a knife, 3 people under the ground dead and another one on top of the ground covered in blood, he recently grabbed one of my 15 yr old brother`s pocket knives out and started swinging it at my older brother because they were fighting, and then he told my mother he wanted to be a serial killer when he grows up! he has said before that he wishes he would die, that he didn`t want to wake up the next morning,.....
