KiMikebaby (1030.2 days ago) Midwife all the way. All the follow up visits are great! An hour each visit. She came every day the first week, to my house. And now she`ll be coming once or twice a week. SO SO MUCH BETTER (had a obgyn for the first 4 months of pregnancy).
terise (1030.3 days ago) I`ll add, I wonder how many people that voted for ob/gyn haveused a midwife because I would have said ob/gyn too if this were any of my other pregnancies. I just didnt realise how good a midwife was. I thought because I paid for my Ob it must have been a better service. My midwife allows up to half an hour for each appt where as with my ob it was in and out as quick as possible. My midwife has kept me under observation twice now to monitor the baby when I was a little worried. My ob would have never had the time for that.
terise (1030.3 days ago) I had my own ob/gyn for my first 3 pregnancies and he was great but this time I`m a little short on cash so decided to go with a midwife. I dont know why I spent thousands of dollars on an ob in the past, the midwife is actually better and has a lot more time at each appt.
bethk (1030.5 days ago) I lovvvvveeeee midwifes! They are there at ur beck an call! I could call them without feeling like a was hassling them with any problem or query!! My 1st choice for defo!
bellajenna (1030.5 days ago) I have 3 kids just gave birth in march to my last and I have had both. all together with all my pregnancys I have had 3 obs and 2 midwifes. I had my last two with a midwife.( diffrent ones, b/c i moved) They are way better than ob. they spend more time with you, they listen. I will never again see an Ob. I had such wonderful care with them I am now in school to become a midwife. I think the US is one of the only countries where a midwife is kinda looked as a lesser doctor. I think they are so much better. And the children I had with the midwifes were both drug free. I LOVE LOVE their care.
marli (1030.5 days ago) I had an OB but she wasn`t an M.D. she was a D.O. The md`s seem to be more caught up in the `medical` aspect. I LOVED my doctor, she delivered both my boys.
~amy~ (1030.5 days ago) I saw both and the midwife wasn`t as `doom and gloom` as the ob.
mommy-to-Noah-and-Runa (1030.5 days ago) OMG midwife all the way. I had a midwife for my pregnancy and she was soooo attentive and I never felt rushed during an appointment. During the birth they check on you alot more and are encouraging. I ended up having an emergency c-section (and for the record the ob-gyn was wonderful too and will be performing my next c-section) and the midwife acted as the surgical nurse. My next pregnancy will be delivered c-section but I will still see the midwife through the pregnancy for general care. Try and find an office with both MW and Ob-gyns this seems to be the best.
