When i was younger I was in an airport and overheard a lady saying she craved catfood..the wet stuff when she was pregnant so she ate it. ewwww!

I have thankfully never experienced this, but my Aunt did. She craved BEER. She is a very religious woman who doesn`t even drink...but while pregnant she craved beer. She never acted on the urge...but it was really odd. My cousin ate chalk while pregnant and her mother craved ashes. Could it be genetic or something I wonder. MS was extreme for all 3 women...so their bodies were obviously lacking something.

yeah when i first read about it i was like wtf? i`ve read all about it i find it so interesting. thats why i made a poll. if anyone has the cravings i`d love to hear about it. what triggers the cravings.. have they acted on it.. i love anything with science and that is one thing i`d like to study.

I haven`t had it but my mother had while pregnant with me. She wanted to eat cigarette butts!! GROSS! lol But, it is a dangerous thing, most people actually get it when they are not pregnant. I think it signals something wrong in your balance of hormones or chemicals.

for those that dont know what it is, Its the word thats used for very unusual cravings like chalk or tar (yes ive heard of someone that craved tar lol)
