In the uk we get child benefit of £20 /week for the first child until they leave education, also get a child tax credit for working (base on earnings) to help with childcare costs and we get a cheque for £250 when the child is born to start a trust fund, we then get another cheque for £250 when she is 7 and 13 years old to go in trust fund, this money cannot be touched until she is 18 or terminally ill! We also don`t pay for our health care.

I would love to get a baby bonus but in the US, we usually have to pay thousands of dollars to have a baby!! I wish they gave us money, that would be lovely!!

In Australia when your baby is born you receive a $5000 and I was curious if the same happened everywhere

Hi Robin, some places get a sum of money when the baby is born. I remember seeing a poll on that a while ago. It`s a one time thing, not like our tax deduction yearly. :O)

yes we get an additional $100/month added to the child tax you get for them, but the bonus is only until they turn 6.

What is a baby bonus? If you mean a tax credit/deduction we get it in the US.
