Janet8 (911.9 days ago) I went on it after I had 4 miscarriages. It reallllly helped me. The nice thing is that this is one of the only a/dep`s that you CAN take short term. I don`t think u can take it while pregnant, though. there is eglinol (sp) for that.. never had it tho.
Lou-Li-Ro (1028.2 days ago) Hi, I`ve just come off Lexapro, which is exactly the same thing as Cipralex (are you in the UK because when I lived in Wales I was on Cipralex, and came back home to Ireland and found it`s called Lexapro here)... I`ve come off it because I have been ill with nausea and I thought it was a side-effect of the lexapro, but I`ve found out it wasn`t a side-effect of that at all. My experience of it is that it did definitely significantly help me with my terrible depression, and gave me the chance to get my head together so that I could go to counselling and deal with my issues. I don`t think anyone should stay on any anti-depressants long-term though, I think it should help you deal with every-day life and help you deal with your depression, but once you`re feeling stable and well again, wean off (very gradually and with the advice of your doctor) and see how you get on. I am off it now and I`m fine. I am glad to say my sickness wasn`t a side-effect of the Cipralex; I think it is exhaustion and the strong pill I am on which I am changing from. But do keep aware of how you're feeling physically while you're on it, and read the leaflet carefully so you know what to be aware of. In my experience it does the job it's' supposed to, and now I am off it again and so far managing my emotions well on my own. Good luck with the Cipralex and I hope it helps, but if you need to you should go for counselling. xx
