angie2008 (1021.4 days ago) we just started rice cereal and my lo refuses to eat it. i mixed it one day with water and the other day with breastmilk. i have read in various places that it is not necessary and you can begin with veggies. Don`t put juice in the cereal to give it a good taste because that will teach the baby to eat only sweet things and then will most likely reject veggies. EditDelete
tto (1021.5 days ago) We mixed with rice milk. It has some nutritional value and tastes a lot like breast milk- my exclusively BF baby had no problem with the taste. EditDelete
Austin::and::Alexs::Momma (1021.7 days ago) shes asking if its ok to mix the cereal with water, shes not asking if she should feed him cereal & she also states that he bf`s after eating a little cereal - mg! anyhow, yes you can mix it with water or like bella said juice also. and if your lil guy is anything like mine he`ll eat his cereal and has NO problem drinking his milk afterwards - don`t worry about drying up if he`s still nursing ok with the food. But, if he just doesn't like the cereal, don't worry about giving it to him, its not important that he has it. =) EditDelete
mommy2four (1021.7 days ago) I just used water with all 3 of mine. I breastfeed, but don`t own a pump. I don`t want the expense of formula so water was the easiest. I always nursed first before offering solid food so I figured they get enough Breastmilk that way.

bellajenna (1021.7 days ago) you can also try juice. thats what my sister did. EditDelete
My5Babies:) (1021.7 days ago) It is fine that you put water with it, but you should nurse first, and then offer cereal. Babies need most of their nutrition from formula and/or breastmilk before food at this age. EditDelete
.punky. (1021.7 days ago) You can skip the cereal stage all together :0) Google it! It can be a good stepping stone, but isn`t at all necessary. But I think it`s okay that you mix it with water. I think it even says on the instructions to mix with formula, bm, or water. EditDelete
