It`s a flu. I doubt that anyone you know will die from it. People in Mexico are dying from it because they have very poor medical care and are going through a severe drought where most people aren`t able to wash their hands or keep hydrated once they get sick. Remember the last time you got the flu? That`s exactly how it is.

Once you have a virus the vaccine will be no good to you.. vaccines are a preventative measure and also work to rid a community of a contagious pathogen because it can`t spread. If it weren`t for vaccines and the majority of the population having them diseases like small pox would still be killing hundreds of thousands of our babies! A vaccine may cause some symptoms but it`s better than death.. surely?

there is a vaccine for this flu.the proble is they don`t have enough viles made up yet but there is one. as for getting the vaccine no I`ll take my chances. The vaccine for this flu can prove more harm than the swine flu itself. The last time we had a swine flu epidemic was in the 70`s 1 person died from swine flu but several died from the vaccine and many others were paralised. I`ve heard that they have improved the vaccine since then but with out proper testing there is no way that I`m going to trust it.

I vaccinate my son with all vaccines except the flu vaccine because it does more harm than good. Now about this swine flu we are taking the same precautions that we do during regular flu season. I really don`t know why ppl are getting so worked up or scared about this thing.

I agree with mommamia more people died from the vaccine than the actual flu. On that note I am worried about getting the flu, especially my kids getting it, so you better believe I carry that antibacterial EVERYWHERE :P

Thank you for that information!! Very good to know. I`m just wondering how all the vaccinating parents are feeling about this strain of flu, since there`s no vaccine to turn to.

This isn`t the first `outbreak` of the swine flu and it`s no more dangerous than the regular seasonal flu. If I did feel sick I would just stay home and try to get better, like I would with any sickness :) The CDC and the WHO are recommending you don`t even go to the hospital if you feel flu-like symptoms because almost all the cases are mild and the waiting rooms are already full of people with mild flu-like symptoms.
