Be careful with taking hormone suppliments if your ovaries are taken out after all ~ if there is any breast cancer in the family you are placing yourself at risk. Replacements are linked to breast cancer so many are now opting not to take hormone replacement. None of my sisters can or could take them. Hot flashes do not stop after 6 months but the are tolerable to some degree because you get used to them. ((())) hugs

I have to have a hysterectomy because I have placenta accreta possibly attached to my bladder and my doctors want to prevent haemorrhaging as much as possible. The vertical incision is supposed to cause less blood loss and give my doctors a better view. I am very disappointed about both. I do not want a hysterectomy although I do not want any more children after this one. This will be my third. The doctors do plan on leaving my ovaries so I will at least have those. And I absolutely do not want a scar that runs up my stomach. I feel I will never be sexy for my husband ever again. Also very worried about how I will heal from both.

My mom just had one a few years ago. She was 42. She has actually been begging to have it for years. She had horrible periods and bleed for weeks. She was sore and could not lift for about 2 months anything over 10 lbs. The also had to remove one of her ovaries. She takes a few other supplements, but hot flashes stop after about 6 months. Once you get on your `supplements and/or hormones` you willbe fine. Just dont over do it. Take it easy and dont try to be super-mom!! Also try to keep your ovaries! They will help produce those hormones and you wont have to supplement as much!

All three of my sisters have had hysterectomies ~ one vertical. They sadly had the cancer gene BRCA-1 two with cancer. One had the vertical pelvis to breast bone. The other two had them laproscopically ~ the one sis who had it vertical was very sore for a while, the first week alot of pain. So be sure you take all the pain meds you can and take them at the due time, dont wait til you think you need them because then it can take to long to kick in, trick is to be `ahead` of the pain and you will do best. To be in the best comfort dont be a hero and try to deal with the pain, take your meds and you will do and feel the best. They all did this with there mastectomies too and it was much better for pain management. The hormones will be all over, esp having had a baby to be sure to discuss any modd swings or concerns you have. Their hot flashes werent so bad at first but got worse over time. My mom had a vertical hysterectomy from cancer too and I recall her pinning her stockings to her slip at my wedding because tighness around the waist hurt which was 6 weeks post but she was able to move around fine other wise. I also know a friend who had a hysterectomy after a failed vaginal delivery which should have been a section. I recall her saying and my sis`s that they were not able to lift anything other then their baby for 2 months. ((()))

  5. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!

  8. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.

  10. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
