Other-poll poll Off topic but for UK ppl! Im buying a house privately, So what happens? Do I just give the deposit to my solicitor to pass it on or does my mortgage bank have to see it first? Its sooo confusing!

No you can give it straight to solicitor/seller

You would still get a realestate attorney who looks out for your interests, contract inspections etc they would take the deposit and hold it with you for your contract. Thats what ours did in the US, so I`d look into it.
