if you pump as soon as baby is born you will not get a good milk supply built up. babys do not usually get attached to the breast until around 3-4 months, thats when its hard to switch to a bottle

I went back to work when my son was six weeks. I was exclusively breast feeding him. I work for an insurance company in a very large office and I had scheduled designated times to go into a conference room (locked of course) several times a day and I was able to express my milk. I had a special bag to store it in the fridge and took it home at the end of the day. I did this for six months and finally decided to switch him over to formula. My work has since moved into another large office building and we now have a `Mother`s Room` exclusively set up for breast feeding mothers to express their milk.

About 2 weeks before I went back to work, I let hubby give him a bottle of breastmilk. It went ok, so once a day one feeding was from a bottle. Then while I was at work, I pumped for the next days feedings. When he was with me, he ate from me.

I introduced the bottle pretty early on. After like 2 weeks or so. She took to it fine. I would definitely try to pump and stock up some milk too because I had trouble pumping enough for my full work week.

I had to go back to work when my son was 7 weeks old. I pumped at work twice per day. Here`s my bottle & breast experience: around 4 weeks I started pumping and my husband, myself, or my mom would give him bottles here and there while I also breastfed. When I was back at work, I would nurse my son in the morning, drop him off at my mom`s he would get a bottle, I would go see him at lunch and nurse him, he`d get another bottle in the afternoon, and I`d nurse him when I picked him up. When he was about 5 months old he didn`t always need the lunch time and after work nursing b/c he was also eating stage 1 baby food. At 8 months he refused to take a bottle, but I still kept nursing him when I was with him (morning, lunch, after work, before bed). Since he wouldn`t take a bottle, I didn`t have to pump any more and it was nice to actually take a break from work and not have to just use the breaks to pump. It all works out, you just have to figure out what works best for you. Don`t worry about nipple/bottle confusion after your baby is 4 weeks old, you can do both. Good luck!

I went back to work after 4 weeks (he will be 6 weeks tomorrow) I only work two days a week (3 hrs each day) which isn`t much but I just pump and he gets a bottle while I`m working, and I`m only gone 3 hours so I don`t need to pump at work. Sorry if that wasn`t much help.

I went back to school after 2 weeks, twice a week for 2 feeding each day. I pumped right from the get go because i was so engorged and saved up some milk! At one week old i gave her a bottle of breast milk to see if she would take it and she did fine. So then i waited a couple days and gave her one more and she did fine again. Then when i went back to school she took the bottle fine from my Aunt who watches her. I pumped 3 times a day while at school so that my milk wouldn`t decrease. She would nursed directly when we were together. At around 12 weeks i went back to work on the weekends and only had to pump once while i was working. She only had breastmilk for the first year of life, when she was 8 months i had to go to school 4 days a week and we had no problems. You can do it as long as you have the will and persistence, it is not impossible and not as hard as some women make it out to be! So i would wait a couple weeks before introducing the bottle and then do it slowly!

  1. I`m interesed in getting an innotab for my kids. Are the extra downloads pricey? How is the product as a whole?
  2. Thought they were fixing the problem with the profiles? Mine is now starting to disappear and most of my friends profiles are gone. Is it getting fixed or what because its more than a joke at the moment. Maybe its the ads causing the problems because its the only thing that seems to stay when the profiles disappear.
  3. If you had a `favourable` cervix (started to dilate and soft) did a membrane sweep work for you?
  4. Should I buy my sister a Belly Bandit for her shower? She said that is what she wanted when I asked. I just have a hard time spending that much money on some thing she might niot like. Especially because it was me who put the dumb :) idea in her head!! I bought and used one for three out of my four and loved it...but is it for everyone? Or should I throw down the money to something more practical?
  5. Are your children exposed to two hours or less of TV per day? (This includes when your shows are on and they are awake and around at the same time in the same room)

  6. Just finished making a birthday cake for the first time from our baby girl for her daddys bday tomorrow :o)
  7. Extension of last Valentine question..I should clarify that we are having V-day dinner tomorrow alone but still just the fact that he bought our gifts at the same time at the same place bugs the s-it out of me. He knows I like plants and I`m pretty sure he went to a nice nursey and got me one but the fact is he told me he got his mom a small little plant. OMG I fee like I total b-tch but I feel like telling him I know what he probably got me and I do not want anything that you are giving your mom!! But then he wopuld know I snooped and saw where he went on our checking account.
  8. O.k I know this is a off the wall question..Is it weird and selfish of me to be annoyed that my husband has is giving his mom a Vanetine gift and card tonight when she comes over and wants to give me mine too today? I know I`m probably being sensitive and I feel bad that I made the comment `if you give me the same thing as your mom I`m gonna cry`. He said I should`nt ruin the surprise and I told him I was sorry but I just wanted our Valentines seperate because everything includes his family and it`s a day for lovers. Am I....

  10. I`m getting quite annoyed...I`ve been buying nail polish lately and it seems every one I buy is crap. They take forever to dry and look just sloppy by the time they are dried. Is there something specific to look for when buying nail polish?? am I missing something?? LOL What are your favorite `fast drying` brands?? Thanks in advance
