harimaudahan (1010.7 days ago) So I`ve been usuing undies in the house, but pull ups during naps and bedtime and on long outings where a potty isnt readily available. My biggest concern is that I usually take my daughter to the stable for about 3 hours most days of the week where there is no potty. I`m not really sure what to do in that case. Maybe I should bring a portable toddler potty with us?
hannahe (1010.8 days ago) jendez is right as tempting as it is to use the pull ups so that you dont have to do SO MUCH laundry eventually they will realize that it sucks to have wet undies! it literally took my son forever to actually start going on the potty. i started him at around 18 months and now he is nearing 3 and still has accidents when he is playing and doesnt want to stop what he is doing to use the bathroom. in my case i found it was more about training myself to take him every few hours (more often earlier on in the training) rather than waiting for him to tell me.
JMendez (1010.8 days ago) - and as an afterthought......buy tons of undies, you`re gonna need them!
JMendez (1010.8 days ago) Stick with it, even though it may seem impossible in the beginning! All us mommy`s who have potty trained tots have been where you are. Bring her frequently, find an activity she enjoys to do while you have her on the potty and waiting to go. I can`t stress enough to never use negativity if she has an accident. I see a lot of parents do this, whether it`s people I know or not. It just makes it harder for the kid. Keep undies on her, don`t use those pull-ups or keep putting a diaper on and off. Trust me it will get easier with time, and as that old saying goes: Rome wasn`t built in a day! =)
MysticMoonMommyIsBack (1010.8 days ago) When potty training you need to go in with them every 15-20 minutes, you`d be surprised how often little kids need to go. The bladder of an adult actually refills itself about every hour, so just imagine how often it must refill on a 2 year old. Reading stories helped a lot with my kids when I was training them. Turning the sink on to a trickle was also helpful.
california-mom (1010.8 days ago) Take her every 15 minutes even if its just to sit on the toilet. Keep giving her lots to drink. When shes sitting on the toilet, read her stories, sing her songs etc, eventually something will come out and then praise her like crazy!
