Pregnancy-poll poll Pregnant mommies…what are your thoughts on labor and delivery?
(Pregnancy poll by goldenmama37, 189 days ago)
Trying not to think about it. Deal with it when I have to.
Been there, done that, not a big deal.
I'm reading and preparing all I can to make it easier or at least more (mentally) comfortable.
Pain, blood, lives on the line…I’m really scared! WAAA!

We`re hiring a doula, which makes us feel very prepared and confident. On my page, I have a short blog on doulas with a link to an article if you want to read about them. Good luck!

Definitely expect the unexpected! I agree! My labor with my daughter was great, the delivery had some complications though, I developed a fever and 2 hours into pushing my daughter`s heartbeat was starting to rise with the contractions, up to around 200bpm and the doc was worried and wanted to get her out, he said we`d either do a c-section or he was going to use forceps to help get her out faster.. I was scared of both options but more scared of the c-section so he used the forceps (did a really good job too! not a mark on her sweet little head!). After the delivery my uterus was tired and wouldn`t contract anymore so I was bleeding uncontrollably, I ended up being taken into the OR and being knocked out and packed so they could slow the bleeding to a normal amount. I had a blood transfusion and was on iron supplements for months after the birth. It was not at all how I had planned for it to go but it turned out alright, my daughter is a happy healthy 1 year old and we`re expecting baby #2, so obviously it wasn`t too traumatic if we`re willing to go through it all again so soon! :) It is not so bad and really the memory of it fades faster than you can imagine. Don`t worry about it too much, it`s only 1 day of your life, you have the rest of your life to worry about your little angel!!

I`m not pregnant anymore but I will agree with them and say expect the unexpected. I had it all planned out. I talked it over with my doctor numerous times. We even took birthing classes to prepare. Well, I had a c-section so none of that mattered. Not that you`ll need one but mine was pretty unexpected. Even though the doctor mentioned I might need one, I still didn`t think I`d need one.

This would be my third and im scared. I wasnt for the first two because the labors were unexpected. They were premature. I went in for a check up and a couple hours later they were out. I had no time to think about it. But now im just in panic even tho its gonna be a long time away. Hopefully I wont hit the 40 week mark and be expecting it everyday. Ughh. who knows.

Expect the unexpected. Every single delivery is different and if you `prepare` yourself for how you THINK it`s going to be, you`ll probably be stressed out. What you should be thinking is....`I`ll take it as it comes`. You may or may not have `control` over things but try to just go with it....It will be a much better experience that way.

I`m looking forward to it. It should prove interesting.

As it gets closer...I am a big WUSS when it comes to turning control of things over to others...being so vulnerable. I think I`m going to HATE it and be scared out of my mind since not even the doctors can control what is happening! I can handle pregnancy, it`s the last 24 - 48 hours that I`m afraid are going to break me...everyone says it`s fine once you get to hold your baby, but I`m so afraid of loosing it in the last few moments...

  2. alright ladies i need some advice... PLEASE... i think the 4 year old girl that i watch during the day is... masterbating!... she lays on the floor belly down... both hands under her and she is `humping` her hands (the way it looks) so i asked her `what are you doing?` and she quickly jumps up and says `nothing!!!` really fast... so i sat her down (am i ok to sit her down and ask her? i have no clue what to do with this!) but i sat hger down and asked her what she was doing and she got upset... i asked if she was sopposed to be doing this and she said no... i asked her why and she said bc daddy said not to... i asked her what she wasnt sopposed to do and she wouldnt say... so im not sure if she was masterbating or not but it sure looks like it... then i told her to go take a nap and i was going to have a talk with her mom... and she began to cry and say no do say anything... so i dont know what to do... any of you going through this with your own kids??? HELP... i dont know if its my place because im the `babysitter`...
  3. i posted a little while ago about my 16 month old daughter waking up in the middle of the night and staying awake for an hour. Well last night it was 2.5hrs. I gave her milk and she was still wide awake, rubbed her back and even let her cry for an hour(me going in frequently). I don`t know why she is waking up for long periods. She only takes 1 nap which lasts 2-3 hrs, has a regular bedtime routine since she was little. What else can I do and why is she doing this?
  4. For those of you who exercised during pregnancy, what week did you stop? I`ve been going to the gym 4-5x/week for 30 min or so for most of my pregnancy (doing the eliptical or walking on the treadmill). Now that I`m 37 weeks, I`m just not motivated anymore. My ankles are swollen most of the time, and my knees, feet and groin are sore. I pretty much limp around pathetically when I walk. 30 min walking on the treadmill just wipes me out now, and I`m too tired to do anything for the rest of the day. I feel so pathetic, and I want to stay healthy...but when do you give up? I plan on working back into things post pardum btw. Thanks!
  5. For those of you with more than one pregnancy under your belt; Did it get any easier to tell your family?
  6. Have any of you become pregnant from pre-ejaculate?
  7. Aside from swear words, what are some words that are NOT allowed in your home?
  8. When Christmas shopping for your LO do you go all out and try to find all the special items on his or her list? If you cant find it does it stress you out? Or do you just buy what you see on sale?
  9. Ok, so my 1 year old used to be such a good sleeper, approx 8-7:30. The last few nights has been driving me nuts, she`s been waking me up at 6am! I`ve tried everything, giving her some milk to go back to bed, putting toys in her crib to occupy her, but she kept crying after a short while. She wanted to be out and playing like it was her wake up time. I tried feeding her breakfast once though, and she wouldn`t have it, so I suppose I don`t know what to do. She`ll drink her milk, but she just wants to get out and play, what do I do?!
  10. Has anyone had really bad sore boobs with there 1st but not there 2nd? or anyother way around? im 5 days late on my period but i dont want to take a test because my breast dont hurt. and with my daughter that was my first sign they hurt horribly!
