thirdtimearound (296.2 days ago) My 2nd used to hold her breath as a newborn...scared the crap out of me. She would stiffen and turn bright red. I thought she was having a seizure. But dr said it is common...now she is 2 and a half and it totally matches her personality to do such things to her mama!
SunshineBaby1 (296.4 days ago) Actually we`ve had a few issues and I have a friend with a 3 year old who told us how to deal! Blow, forcefully, in the mouth/nose. This really works! My friend`s pediatrician told her to do this... their son sill regularily has this happen... the other thing she said works (which we`ve neved needed), was to flip him upside down, not quite sure why, but apparently that also works. For our son, the blowing in his face/nose/mouth thing always worked and we could see it kind of shook him out of it so to speak.
Delightful (296.7 days ago) My first child did this from about 5 months to 2 years to where his body would get so stiff he would start to arch backwards lips would turn a little blue, I have read about it and I asked the dr. Some babies just deal with there feelings in a different way just make sure that you hold on to your baby while this is happening cause they can get hurt. And usually they get pretty pooped out afterwards so there having a cow should be over after that. He is now 13 turning 14 and December and a perfectly health fine teenager.
bdoe [kaylees mommy!] (296.7 days ago) This is actually pretty common. Scary. Make sure you discuss it with your doctor, but she will outgrow it!
