I voted for counseling, but have found that a combination of Zoloft and counseling work well for me. I`ve been on Zoloft for years to treat MDD/Anxiety/OCD, but I`ve noticed it`s not as effective without counseling.

I have GAD as well. In the past I used counselling to help with some of my triggers. I was also on medication for it but stopped taking my meds shortly after I found out I was pregnant. For some reason the hormonal shift helped a lot with it and I only had a total of TWO anxiety attacks the entire pregnancy. Once my daughter was born, however, it returned. At the moment, I am not on meds. Until recently I had been able to keep it somewhat under control by just being very aware of my triggers and constantly gauging where I am at. My Bf is also very supportive and understanding when I am having issues with my anxiety which helps a lot. Lately however, things in my life have been nuts and most of it is out of my control which isn`t helping my GAD at all. It has been spiraling more and more out of control so I will need to resume taking my meds. It`s a matter of being aware enough of when you are and aren`t able to manage things without help.

I have GAD, generalized anxiety disorder, and I`m currently on prozac. While it helps a lot, I`m starting to get my tension headaches again and I have another appt to see my doc to see what more I can do. I was on zoloft from 22 weeks when I was just pg with my 4 month old and that helped a lil. I was on a low dose, but it took the edge off and helped with my tension headaches.
