scaredmommy (994.1 days ago) The doctors may have forgotten to do the test or it may have been an oversight. You need to remind doctors that your doctor said the test was going to be given at your next visit. We have asked for tests to be done that were not needed and the doctors gave them to me. Ask for the care you deserve!
MommyOf3But4ToBe (994.7 days ago) i would want to just see my DR, but think that it would have been nice to meet the other DRs just in case i went in to labor when they were on call... i guess it would have made me feel comfortable... but i lucked out, and my OBs were always on call when i had my babies....
sleepymomma (994.7 days ago) Ask at your next appoinment what the schedule is for these kinds of tests for you. For example, I have to have a non stress test every week afer 32 weeeks and a growth scan every four weeks after 28 weeks. Ask for the plan, and then you know what should be happening and when.
jessicar (994.9 days ago) Im high risk too and i know they are supposed to do alot more than that my doctor has to check my cervix every week and the position of the baby ( where the head is and see if you`ve dropped ) I`ve been high risk with both of my children and she did the same thing both times...
adriana03 (994.9 days ago) I think that you should tell the next doctor that you see what your thinking. I had a similar situation that there were a few doctors and one of them might be on call the day u deliver. Just see them all once then after you can pick the doctor that you want. And tell him everything.
mommyofxyxyxx (994.9 days ago) All good advice. Thank you ladies. I guess I just don`t want to create a `fuss`. But I`m 40 and have factor II which is a clotting disorder AND have previously delivered two babies at 37 weeks ....so I`m nervous. I think I`m going to call and ask to be rescheduled with my doc. thank you all..
thebigtomato (994.9 days ago) I would ask to see your regular doc, but if you CAN`T get in due to scheduling issues, then be sure to let the doc you DO see know what was supposed to happen at your appointment. Don`t assume that they read your chart thoroughly every time. They can miss things and you need to be the champion for your own care.
butterblocksmom (994.9 days ago) I would call them, book another appointment stat and INSIST that this test is performed as you were told it was necessary and it wasn`t done. You don`t need to be worrying about this and they shouldn`t be messing around....tell them this needs to be done!
missyv28 (pink) (994.9 days ago) Normally I wouldn`t worry about it but since your highrisk I would want to just see 1 doctor. I have 3 Dr`s in my group but thank goodness I see just 1 but I could be delivered by any of them...
JLynn203 (994.9 days ago) I also go to a group of 7 doctors. I was told a few weeks back to start making appointments with the other doctors to meet them because there is no way of knowing who will be on call when I go into labor. Well, I met 2 of them and I told my Doctor that I really don`t care who is on call, I feel more comfortable sticking with one doctor every week. She said that was fine and she understood. I just like knowing what to expect. I think since you are high risk, they should completely understand.
