california-mom (993.3 days ago) Last Christmas we bought our 3 year old a bike with training wheels. It took him a couple weeks and now hes zooming all over the place. Our daughter (6 yrs old) has been riding the 2 wheeler with no training wheel since 4 years old. I on the other hand, couldnt ride a bike with out training wheels til I was 9!!!!! How embarrassing...I think kids are just different.
kimmarie (993.3 days ago) My son was exactly the same way. A week before his 9th birthday he finally learned how to ride a two wheel bike without training wheels. I didn`t push the issue. I let him decide when he felt the time was ready. Now he loves it as it gives him some freedom. He is outside all the time and can`t get him in.
adriana03 (993.3 days ago) my daughter is six and rather ride a tricyle. Shes a little chicken. She dies if we take off the wheels on her big bike So i think shes gonna be a 20 year old with training wheels.
mumzie1212 (993.3 days ago) my son learned to ride last year w/o training wheels at six. he`s always had a bike but never that interested until he learned to ride it w/o the trainging wheels, now he loves to ride. let him go at his own pace.
5against1 (993.4 days ago) my 15 yr old learned at 6. my 13 yr old learned by 4 and was HEAVILY in2 bmx biking until recently. my 11 yr old has never even been on a bike. he has no interest, and ive bought him a few bikes over the yrs as he grew. my 9 yr old learned at 5...every1 is different!
kylaleigh (993.4 days ago) I have 2 boys now and one on the way but my 6 year old has ALWAYS been a bike rider and learned how to ride w/o training wheels at 4. He`ll jump on that bike as soon as he feels comfy with it most likely if he see`s other kids riding he`ll want to join :)
missyv28 (pink) (993.4 days ago) My son didn`t like the bike at first, he`s 2 and now will get on it. I learned to ride a 2 wheeler without training wheels when I was 6 or 7
armymom (993.4 days ago) don`t force it then he`ll really hate it.
jessicar (993.4 days ago) My daughter is 2 1/2 and is already trying!!! she`s a little dare devil though I still havent gotten up the courage to actually let her do it....
anewborn2009 (993.4 days ago) I bought my son his first bike when he was 3 and he had no interest either. this really surprised me because he is active and he loves climbing and jumping and running and all that sort of stuff. Finally one day out of no where he went over and started riding it like he had been riding it forever. He was four though when he did it. It was funny because he said `look mom I am not a boy anymore I am a guy now`.
I think you have to just give him time to get interested in it. If he sees other kids riding bikes he might find interest in it.
Austin::and::Alexs::Momma (993.4 days ago) I wouldn`t force him to do it, or you could be setting him up to hating it, since you are making him do something that he doesn`t want too! I say give him some time and maybe eventually he`ll give it a shot! Does he have any other riding toys that he shows interest in? My son rode his bike with out training wheels for the very first time, a couple months before turning 6 ( I remember it so clearly because it was the night before the 1st day of kindergarten). (=
