ms m (989.3 days ago) Thank you for your comments...feeling a little better. :)
menja (989.9 days ago) I feel it varies from baby to baby. Some kids have no stranger anxiety at all. But some start early and outgrow it. For some it sets in late. So you may never know beforehand. :) My son nevr had an anxiety phase, but my niece, now 5 months, started pouting crying from when she was 4 months. She behaves like that for some time, but when the stranger persists for some time, she becomes okay with them.
BTW, stranger anxiety is a good thing - it keeps children safe, nature intends children to be scared of who or what they don`t know well, it works for their protection. So I`d think your kid`s quite bright if he recognizes the immediate family so well already! :) So don`t be embarrassed about it.
moncheri09 (990.1 days ago) He will outgrow it. It`s a totally normal part of psychological development. Most people are aware that children go through this phase and I wouldn`t be embarrassed if I were in your shoes. If anything, I would just tell others not to take it personally if they don`t already understand.
ms m (990.3 days ago) opps... spelling... embarrassed. ;)
Thank you for your advice. xolblondie, I will give it a go. It does get very embarrassing when people come up to say `what a cute baby` and all of a sudden he starts pouting and crying. I am worried that he wont outgrow this.
cutelilmama (990.3 days ago) Well honestly... Im on the complete other side of what ur going through, my son has NEVER had any kind of seperation anxiety, and he is know a yr and a half. He dosen`t care when Im leaving hes just like `bye bye` happy as can be, and could care less. I sometimes feel like gosh child can mommy get some kind of feeling like ur gunna miss me... lol but i know he loves me either way, and im sure eventually ur child will over come this of course the older he/she gets
