I also think it is about phases...how old the baby is. When baby is older (mobile, running around, interacting) it is more fun for daddy to be doing things WITH baby. Let`s face it, the first 6 months, babies are like a piece of luggage....after they are walking, they are certainly more fun! The first year, we did lots of visiting...now, we do lots of play stuff (play grounds, play groups, visitintg, parties with other families, etc)

We dont have a tv either. He works like 60 hours a week so every minute of the weekend is family time.

I would say a combo of both . We do things together but not every weekend and some week ends we boht sit on our butt. But he does help with the baby every Sat and Sun morning. When the baby wakes up he take him and the girls and lets me sleep in for an hour or 2 if I can.Hes a morning person and I am not! So it works out for us both!!!
