thebigtomato (169.7 days ago) Around 10 months. New research shows that waiting increases their chance for a bad food allergy. Most doctors are NOT recommending waiting until a year anymore. The new guideline is as soon as they`re old enough to handle the texture (around 9 or 10 months), it`s okay to start.
secondandexcited (169.8 days ago) I waited until my girl was 11 1/2 - 12 months old, and she absolutely loves it. But we won`t give her peanuts because of the choking hazard
IvysMomma (170.1 days ago) i waited til she was just about a year
MJamison (170.2 days ago) when eatig other soft type foods, he was able to suck it off the roof of his mouth... My view was if he could get a plain cracker and not have a problem.. since as you know.. they can get mushy and stuff to the roof of your mouth... then I knew he would be able to get the pb too! Hope that helps! He was about 11 months!
ladobruk (170.2 days ago) Just after her 1st B-day.
summerisis (170.3 days ago) She`s 14.5 months and we haven`t given it to her yet. I don`t really want it in the house or I`ll eat the whole jar with a spoon in about a week.
Mom2Dom (170.3 days ago) I waited until about 13.5 months. I see no benefit of giving it to them before a year, but then again I saw no benefit of giving juice ever, milk before a year, or baby food before 6 months. Evevn though we have no history of peanut allergies, you never know and there little bodies cant handle that type of allergic reaciton before a year.
mamacakes (170.3 days ago) 4 months with both boys and never had a problem!
amber325 (170.3 days ago) olivia has had a few tastes of it @ 6 + months
butterblocksmom (170.4 days ago) 15 months...with close supervision
soon2be3 (170.4 days ago) We just tried last weekend. He will be one year old on the 17th. We usually wait until they are a year old.
daydays mom (170.4 days ago) hey i didnt start giving my daughter peanut butter til after she was 13 months old. shes almost 14 months now, but i wasnt going to until i found out that she loves the flavor so i started giving it to her and she loves it. i just put in on really thin. they say well ive heard that the longer you wait the more prone the child could be to the allergies, dont count my word on it but day hasnt had any issues so its really what you feel confortable with and how you think your child will do!
