aprilraine (982.8 days ago) I was underweight at 100 lbs and 5`1... I was told to gain at least 40 lbs. I gained 35 and kept 10 on in the end (I wasn`t trying to lose any) I was happy keeping the 10 on because I was TOO skinny before I got pregnant.
lovefranky (982.9 days ago) i went from a size 00 to a size 12! I gained 50+ lbs. I went from 90 lbs to 155
cpalmer (982.9 days ago) i was underweight before i got pregnant and i gained 55lbs but the doc said it was ok
MysticMoonMommyIsBack (982.9 days ago) According to how much you weight the doctor will usually specificy around how much he/she would like you to gain. If you`re underweight then usually they will recommend you gain at least 30 lbs. If you are average weight for your height or a good weight then usually around 25-30 lbs, and if over weight they will usually want you to gain no more than 20. All doctors are different though and we all gain weight differently too.
5against1 (982.9 days ago) as long as you are eating, and eating healthy, dont worry about the weight gain. if you are eating as healthy as you say, then i bet it will all be baby weight.
mumette (982.9 days ago) yea, I`m NOT a big foodstuffer. Never have been. I`m half japanese so I was raised with a lot of seafood and seaweeds...healthy stuff by American standards. I curently wiegh 88lbs and I`ll I`ve been eating for snacks is fruit, vegetables, Multigrain cereal.... stuff like that. No sodas, no cupcakes, nada. Not starvinfg myself just eating healthy. I`m terrified of gaining a large amount of wieght because I`m so small. 20 pounds I can deal with but at 5`3`/85lbs. 35 lbs. is quite a bit....
5against1 (982.9 days ago) i was underweight and very young with my 1st, so my dr recommended i gain between 35-40 lbs.
butterblocksmom (983 days ago) There is no 'normal' when it comes to anything related to pregnancy...there are only suggested guidelines. I was 5`10.5" and 149 lbs. Put on 55 lbs which was WAY beyond `guidelines`. Had an exceptionally healthy baby and was back down to 155 lbs 5 month pp and all clothes fitting like normal within 7 months pp.
MamaTex (983 days ago) I was slightly overweight when I got pregnant. I gained only 4 lbs...ate pretty healthy, no caffeine/ sodas, no alcohol, and really watched my sugar and carbs intake. After delivering, I lost 35 pounds, putting me in the normal range because I continued the same eating habits. (It's been 5 months, and I've kept it off.)
