Other-poll poll what would you do or did if it turns out that your baby is allergic to your pet (who is really like family, stays indoor and is loved to bits!)
(Other poll by dedileb, 164 days ago)
dog is out! no matter what!
Depends on what kind/how bad the allergies are...
figure someway to keep the pet for sure!

It depends on how bad the allergies are - if they are mild then there are things that you can do to reduce them further, like vaccuuming with a Dyson (or similar) Allergy machine, using air filters, removing any unnecessary carpets and heavy curtains, getting remaining carpets and curtains and upholstered furniture steam cleaned regularly, brushing and washing the dog (outside of course) regularly and limiting the contact that your baby has with the dog. Obviously keep the dog out of rooms that the baby is in most often. If the allergies are severe, then you should be doing all of the above anyways and look into shots for the baby as they will likely be allergic to other animals and pollen too, so it`d be kinder for them to have a shot every few months than to be constantly suffering from it.

I am not a huge pet person so i am not sure i am the best to answer this question, but as a person with terrible pet allergies, i would have to say there is no way in a million years i would keep a pet in my house (b/c no amount of separating them will help, the dander would still be in the air/carpet/furniture) if my child was allergic. I feel miserable every time i am around a cat or dog for more than a few minutes. Even when i go to other`s homes i get stuffy, eyes are itchy and watery, and i get terrible headaches. I would never want a child to suffer that way b/c i was to selfish to find my animal a new home.

My little brother was allergic to our cat growing up, but it was just sneezing occasionally..nothing too serious didn`t get rid of the cat. Now if my child was asthmatic or something, that`s a different story. But I`ve heard if you have a pet when you bring your baby home, those babies have fewer pet allergies. We have a german shepherd, I would hate to have to get rid of him because of *severe* allergies, but it wouldn`t really be a question for me, we`d have to find him a new home.

i have a little Pomeranian/Chihuahua and she stays inside. if my baby was allergic, i’d keep the dog outside and away from anything the baby would be around, let the dog sleep in the laundry room/garage or something. but if my baby was super allergic, i’d have my family friend take her. if your baby is super allergic, do you know anyone who can take your dog? so you can still see and visit your pup?? or is it possible just to keep the dog and baby separate?

  7. I`m at 19 weeks, and just had my 20 week ultrasound a week early (thank you THANKSGIVING!!), am overjoyed to find out everything is A OK BUT I have `marginal Placenta previa` my midwife says she`s NOT concerned and that it will VERY VERY VERY likely move up on its own and I can deliver naturally and vaginally as planned, if not I have to have the dreaded C-section. Which i`m SO terrified over I get into a panic every time i think about it. So, my question is: Has anyone here HAD marginal placenta previa and had it move up by the time the baby is born?
