canadababy (161.1 days ago) I think it orignates from people not wanting pregnant women to do much hard work so they came up with this story to scare everone into taking it easy. (back in the day when women worked the fields, etc) No reason to follow it now though, pure nonsense :)
kottonkurlz (161.2 days ago) julz- how do you stay on your feet for so long?
KelliA (161.2 days ago) I have never heard of such a thing. If this was a real issue then the doctor would advise you not to do it.
MelissaJoanne (161.3 days ago) How would you get dressed, or wash your hair in the shower (or any number of other obvious things)? Your arms aren`t attached to the umbilical cord.
dedileb (161.3 days ago) Thats what i think and someone saw me reaching the other day and HE almost had a cow!! lol says his daughter is a doc and he knows what hes talking about, i didnt pay him much mind but just wanted to see what you ladies think about it....thanks
bethk (161.3 days ago) Very Old wives tale!! Obviously over streching is a no no. Baby can get cord round neck by just moving! MY LO had the cord wrapped around her neck twice when they pulled her out but thats because she panicked when I was in labour and went mad inside! So nothing to do with streching! xx
Holly28 (161.3 days ago) It`s a stupid and untrue old wives tale
diane-taketwo (161.3 days ago) It`s an old wives tale, big time. When pregnant you should always be careful when stretching and reaching. You can over-extend and injure your back, but in no way will it cause the umbilical cord to wrap around the baby.
