Donnella (155.7 days ago) Some crawl, some dont - they are all individuals who have not read any of the developmen books we all seem to swear by.
DS1 never crawled, but bum shuffled at about 10 m and walked at 18m
DS2 crawled and bum shuffled at 11m and walked at 15m
ermsmom (161.3 days ago) My friend`s son isn`t crawling yet and he`s 10 months. He just recently figured out how to roll over and sit on his own. My daughter was walking at 10 months. It just goes to show you that all babies are different. They say boys do things a little slower than girls. Your son will get there.
mellowyellow (161.7 days ago) My first was 11 months when he started crawling, and 17 months when he started walking. He was a very very placid little boy, very happy to just sit around and take everything in:) Also he was a big solid lump of a kid! I think it took him longer to crawl because he had to develop the musculature to drag himself around! My daughter just hit 10 months and she is crawling. She shakes her head alot, and does wave goodbye. I think alot that she has learned is from her older brother who is 5. Just enjoy your little one, read to him, show him how to wave good bye and shake his head. Make it fun and show him how proud of him you are when he does something clever! And lets face it, even sucking on their own toes is a way clever thing to do... as is the cheeky smile you get when their pants are full of poop!
Lou-Li (161.8 days ago) My son started crawling at 7 months, but his twin sister didn`t crawl till she was just about 10 months! So I think it`s ok. If you have concerns perhaps bring him to the baby-nurse or doctor and they can check him for you, but there definitely are a lot of late starters, so don`t be too worried.
hotpotaaaaato (162 days ago) totally normal. My now 3 year old didn`t crawl/scoot/anything until 10.5 months, and then she didn`t walk until 14 months. She`s a totally normal 3 year old now. Kids hit their milestones at their own rates. I wouldn`t worry!
butterblocksmom (162 days ago) Totally normal....there are very wide ranges as to what is considered normal. Many kids that seem late or behind developmental surprise the heck out of everyone by all of a sudden just doing it all. My kid is 15 months and still only has two teeth! I`m not worried... (ok well maybe a little bit, lol!) Don`t worry, he`ll be running around and telling everybody `nonononono!` in no time!
ladobruk (162 days ago) He is still young and within normal ranges.
emi (162 days ago) My bub crawled at 8 months but my little sister (who is now almost 3) didn`t crawl until just after 10 months. She was slow walking too.. but she has caught up and is one of the most intelligent 3 year olds i`ve ever met! If I were you I`d have lots of tummy time and help him learn but don`t worry it`s normal.
happyforest (162.1 days ago) my brother never crawled....he went from rolling around then one day just started walking. dont worry. my home health worker told me that crawling is not a developmental step...so if they dont crawl by a certain time it doesnt mean they are behind or anything.
