thebigtomato (278.8 days ago) I had an epidural and I didn`t care who saw what I just wanted to push that baby OUT! LOL
athenaB1984 (279 days ago) As soon as I hit 6 cm and the contractions were intolderable...I didn`t care who was in the room, epidural or not. I just wanted the baby OUT! In fact, I remember laying there..legs wide open, in the stirrups..va-jay-jay all expose..and this strange lady walks in like nothing, looking for her daughter. The nurse was like `ma`am, you`re daughter is not in this room anymore`..(she was there the day before i think. Alos, I had a nurse tech sitting at the foot of the bed just starring and starring at my vag...like, Im talking, DIRECTLY siiting in front of my junk..for about 2 hours she sat there just looking at my wazoo. I was wondering what the heck she was doing..but honestly..could care less at that point.
christinaswar (279 days ago) I still think my births should be as private as possible so it wouldnt matter to me.
rosye13 (279 days ago) First of all, I also loved my epidural! I was so calm and in control. Everything just seemed like no big deal once I had it, they said push and I pushed. But, as far as having people in the room . . . I was just as modest and aware of the fact that my crotch was on display after the epidural as I was before. I had my hubby in there and that was it. In fact, I think I was more modest after the epidural because I had the ability to calmly think about the fact that I was on display down there.
gr8scottswife (279 days ago) Good question. I have never thought about it, but I think it might affect my decision on the emotional side of things.
RobinG (279.1 days ago) I had an epi and by the time it was time to push I felt the pain 100% ~ the epi doesnt take all the pain away for delivery just makes laboring less painful and for some, like me, can often be worn off by the time you push ~
Mack and Pats first baby, It is a Boy! (279.1 days ago) This is my first baby so maybe I am totally off base here, but you will not be the first or the last that your Doc or whoever is delivering your baby. That is how I have to look at it when I go to my reg doc appointment to do that which all of us love so much. lol.
I am going to have my hubby in the room at least, I couldn`t do it alone lol.
mamabear7406 (279.1 days ago) I totally get what your saying here as I was wondering the same thing. I had my son without an epidural, and of course by the time I was in agony I didn`t care who was looking or touching me down there! I couldn`t have cared less if jack the ripper was there so long as someone got that baby out of me! However I have considered an epidural this time and keep wondering if the fact that I won`t feel the pain would make me more aware of just how much I was losing my dignity! Oh well guess I should have thought of that before getting in this situation!
RobinG (279.2 days ago) And epi will help with pain it doesnt effect you in regards to being oblivious ~ it will no effect on how you wait others being there. You either want them or you dont, the epi has no baring on that :)
bethk (279.2 days ago) All the epidural will do is pain relief, u do have to stay on the bed but even if u were having a normal pain free birth there wouldn be much dif apart from u would have teh choice to move around! It wont make a dif to how many ppl u want in there and none of ur bits will be on show because of it. I lerveeedd my epi! Made me relax and I didnt even swear or anything to my H2B! And Saved my babys life too so cant recommend them enough! x
