mrs.leyva (973.1 days ago) When my cousin delivered she had her baby daddy, her mom, her sister, and me all in the room. Thing was that she NEVER let me take a break. She actually says that she barely remembers anybody else being in there. Thank goodness, after 15 hours of labor at home, once we got to the hospital she had her daughter only 4 hours later.
nmck (974 days ago) My husband was fine, but my sister`s husband was a different story. He was from Ghana, and it is not customary to watch deliveries there. When he realized it is here, he was kind of grossed out. He decided he DID want to be in the room, but then my sister was afraid he would not make it. So she had me and our other sister in as well.
~amy~ (974 days ago) I would say yes! I was supportive to both my sister AND my BIL during her labor. He was about ready to pass out at some points..
bethk (974 days ago) I definately think they need a support person! My H2B was sooo tired and upset he couldnt handle seeing me in so much pain and we called for my mom to be there to support him and me, so he got to go out of the room to breath. I wish I had his mother there in the waitin room just for support for him tho when things were going wrong.
emi (974.2 days ago) I`d say definitely.. labor can last up to 36 hours!! They need drinks, food and a break in general.. it can be incredibly full on and draining. I had my sister and partner.. i think they really appreciated having someone else there to experience it with and help each other out. My sister timed my contractions and held my back while my partner called midwifes, adjusted music, packed the car etc.. i think we all would have been a lot more stresed if one of us was not there.. haha would have been a bit pointless if i wasn`t there :)
