ms m (969.8 days ago) Thanks everyone for your comments... I have started putting formula in his rice cereal now, hope that helps a bit. I go back to work in 4 weeks so have been overly stressing about LO not wanting anything to do with a bottle.
My hubby and I are not big in build either so we were expecting a little baby but just gets worrying when they drop their weight instead of put it on. Thanks again for all your comments and advice, will take it all on board.
Danetteplustwo (970.7 days ago) My little girl was 3 weeks early and tends to sit on the 3rd percentile. Just keep nursing him as much as he wants, you can push solids with a high fat content like avocado and my doctor recommended add some margarine to my babyfood (but ask your doctor first) other than that as long as he matches a normal growth curve don`t worry about it. At least 3 percent of babies have to be on the 3rd percentile. Some kids are just small
nmck (970.7 days ago) Ms M, my son was 10 weeks preemie, and has hovered at or below the 3rd percentile all this time. My doctors say as long as he is gaining weight, they are OK with his size. We were given the OK to introduce yogurt around 5-6 months because it is full of good calories. Also, we read the calories on all the baby food jars and go for the ones with more calories. I would tell you to try not to worry, but I worry too!!
mommiekayla (970.7 days ago) My daughter has always been below the 15%, now she`s 18 months old and only 21 lbs. Her pediatrician says she`s fine and just petite. Honestly, all babies are so different. I wouldn`t be concerned.
sadielady (970.8 days ago) My girl is 8 months. She`s mostly breastfed (about 75 %) and eats solids like I`ve never seen. The girl can eat! She was in the tenth percentile for weight. and 23rd for heighth at her last appt.. doctor wasnt concerned since shes okay developmentally. soo I dont really have any advice
monica9 (970.8 days ago) My daughter was and still has always been in the 10th percentile for weight. She is only 18 lbs at 12 months. But her height has slowly gone up from 10th, 15th,25th, 50th, 75th. but I do have a small LO
EmmaReed84 (970.9 days ago) My son was dis-interested in bottles when I started on solids, but I made up his cereal with the formula anyway so he was still getting the goodness he needed. After a while he got the balance right, we just had to keep trying. I think sometimes they are more interested in solids because it is something new. Kepp offering him a bottle at every oportunity, or use the formila to make his food with. My LO is in the 50th for his length, but only on the 2nd for weight. He is still gaining weight steadily and is happy, alert, strong so I don`t worry too much.
ms m (971 days ago) I ask because my little one is 5 months, exclusively breast fed and has been on solids for 3 weeks. He WILL NOT take a bottle despite trying EVERYTHING, so I cannot top up his feeds with formula. Any advice?
