RobinG (968.8 days ago) Babies often resist from the mom so best to have your SO do it when you are not in room or home. When they see you or can smell your milk they will refuse as they are confused. Put some breast milk on nipple of bottle and have SO give it and keep trying. He will fight it at first but eventually give in. just be sure the nipple flow of bottle is same as breat flow (like a stage 2) because if it is so slow/fast that will add to refusing. EditDelete
athenaB1984 (968.8 days ago) I used to be a nanny, and the mom would leave (she was apparently breast feeding), but would not leave any milk for baby when she left. The baby was about 5 months old..maybe younger and her tummy was GRUMBLING...poor baby. I called her mom and she told me just to start giving her formula with a bottle (which the baby never used before). I couldn`t get the baby to take the bottle, so it took a lot of work on my part and patience. What I did was cradle the baby and hold the nipple of the bottle squeezing it a bit allowing the milk to squirt out on her lips and mouth. After she realized there was milk comming from the wierd foriegn object (nipple), she learned to latch on (little by little) and before I knew it, she was downing the bottle. Granted, she was a little younger than your baby, so it might be a little tougher to convince a 7 month old? EditDelete
