I had D.V.T two weeks post partum with my first kid. It was the worst pain ever. I was bed ridden for seven days with an i.v. drip then put on coumidin for three months. D.v.t. stands for deep vein thrombosis. This kind of blood clot is fatal if the clot moves to your lung, brain, or heart. So it all depends on what kind you have. NEVER something to mess with.

dh had 2 at different times. one in his leg the other in his chest. he was in the hospital for several days with both and on meds for 6 months after each one. he has to be careful with the symptoms as he already had 2 of them. he is fine now though, thankfully

Both my sisters have had them ~ they are very painful. both were given meds to thin it. Some are very dangerous others not so dangerous. A friend of mines hubby had one and it went to his lung and he was serious but ok, another friends sister had one and it was fatal. Def not something you mess with.
