thanks for the comments girls! well pheonix is the first choice for a first name. hubby doesn`t like the `y` in alexander, so we`re going traditional. i think auryn alexander is good too, but hubby liked isaac better. go figure! he likes to butt heads with me at every corner! ggggrrr! we chose pheonix because we want both choices for a boy and a girl to reflect the renewal that i`ve gone through in the last few months, of PPD and PTSD from my very traumatic c-section. we thought we were done having kids, but we were blessed and have overcome the storm.

I, personally, prefer traditional, because I do think the y makes it a bit feminine. Also, being a teacher, most people would probably spell Pheonix like Phoenix, because that`s the traditional spelling. Sometimes kids do get tired of correcting others` misspellings of their names. I like the name, just wanted to throw that out there for you to ponder! :-)

I like the traditional spelling of Alexander, I also like Isaac. My step-daughter`s name is spelled differently and she`s always disappointed when, if we`re on vacation or something, she can`t find a pen or mug with her name on it. Smarie79 is right though, whatever you like best!

I have never seen Alyaxander spelled with a y for a boy. I personally do not like Auryn at all but I like Isacc,but it is what you like that matters no one else! :)

i like alexander as a first name better than pheonix. also spelling it with a Y looks a little feminine to me. isaac is ok, like isaac alexander maybe or isaac phoenix or pheonix isaac. auryn goes better with auryn alexander imo. =)
