i started with giving rice cereal around dinner time. After she got the hang of it, I started giving breakfast too. About 2 weeks later i started lunch as well. I introduced veggies before fruits and gave a new food every 3-4 days. Her schedule is, she wakes up around 7am and nurses, 8:30-9 eats breakfast, 11-12 nurses or has a bottle of breastmilk at daycare. 1-2 has lunch, around 3-4 nurses or bottle at daycare, dinner around 5-5:30 and then nurses again around 7:30 before bed.

By 6 months, my son was on the following schedule. I think I had moved to Gerber baby food, step 2. I would give him a fruit and 2-3 tblspn of oatmeal with water or juice to drink. Then he`d have a 6 oz bottle before his nap. Then he`d have a veggie and 2-3 tblspn rice cereal for lunch with juice or water to drink. Another 6-8 oz bottle somewhere before dinner and possibly another nap. Then for dinner I`d give him a meat/veggie or meat/fruit combo (sweet potatoes and turkey or chicken and apples) with some very small pieces of whatever we had for dinner too. Then he`d have a 6-8 oz bottle before bedtime. And by 7 months, I started giving him some snacks inbetween like cheerios or gerber yogurt melts or rice puffs. Good luck!

Hi, I started my LO on cereal at about 4 1/2 months, I thought she was ready, but not all babies are. Anyways, when I introduced baby food, she would have cereal in the AM (Barley, Rice or Oatmeal) and sometime in the afternoon she would have half a jar of vegetable or fruit. After a couple of weeks like that, she started looking for more food so I gave her two meals of baby food. Half a jar of fruit in for lunch and half a jar of vegetable for dinner. Just don`t force the food on her and make sure you read her cues as to her hunger. Good luck with the feeding, it sure is an interesting time in their development!

I feed Joel solids in the afternoons! He normally gets a veggie than a fruit and then some juice!

  1. Which boys name do you prefer?
  2. I need some help. I know I`m not pregnant(no BD in 3 months) but my lower stomach has been having that pulling streching feeling like when I was pregnant the last few days. Especially when I am moving around and walking. I swear it feels just like it did when I was very pregnant. Any idea what else could be causeing this? Should I make a dr appointment?
  3. Hunter is 5, in Kindergarten and has Asperger Syndrome and Social/Emotional disorder due to this he also has a full-day aide with him. Thursday when I went to pick him up from school I was handed a letter stating that was being suspended for one day for pushing his aide because `she was too close to him in line` Apparently she didn`t fall but `almost` fell. We have a meeting set up on the 12th to talk this issue over, but I don`t think suspending was a grand idea. I mean he`s 5 and autistic! What do you think?
  4. My 16 month old is 21 pounds. Is this terribly small? He is a great eater, sleeper and is very happy, it just seems he is a bit smaller than other children his age.
  5. Need game ideas for a baseball theme (indoor) birthday party - So far I have Musical Bases (played like musical chairs), a Baseball Pinata, Hot Baseball (played like hot potato) & either catch the peanuts in a ball cap or toss the peanuts in a tin can. (mostly 7-11 yr olds, but can be for any age really) Thanks! (:
  6. For those who have multiple children, what do you do present wise for Christmas?
  7. My baby is a thumbsucker, usually only sucks her thumb when going to sleep. Her bottom teeth are coming in and its making thumb red. Has anyones had it actually break their child`s skin and make it raw? Not sure what I should do about it if it gets worse.
  8. *Question not a poll* What did you do for your LO`s 1st birthday party? We live about an hour & half from our friends & most of our family. We are looking to rent somewhere closer to everyone else for our dd`s 1st birthday but could really use some ideas :)
  9. Is your life the way you had always planned it?
  10. what do you think about the baby einstein contraversy??
