angie2008 (141.8 days ago) i started with giving rice cereal around dinner time. After she got the hang of it, I started giving breakfast too. About 2 weeks later i started lunch as well. I introduced veggies before fruits and gave a new food every 3-4 days. Her schedule is, she wakes up around 7am and nurses, 8:30-9 eats breakfast, 11-12 nurses or has a bottle of breastmilk at daycare. 1-2 has lunch, around 3-4 nurses or bottle at daycare, dinner around 5-5:30 and then nurses again around 7:30 before bed.
2babys-under2 (141.9 days ago) By 6 months, my son was on the following schedule. I think I had moved to Gerber baby food, step 2. I would give him a fruit and 2-3 tblspn of oatmeal with water or juice to drink. Then he`d have a 6 oz bottle before his nap. Then he`d have a veggie and 2-3 tblspn rice cereal for lunch with juice or water to drink. Another 6-8 oz bottle somewhere before dinner and possibly another nap. Then for dinner I`d give him a meat/veggie or meat/fruit combo (sweet potatoes and turkey or chicken and apples) with some very small pieces of whatever we had for dinner too. Then he`d have a 6-8 oz bottle before bedtime. And by 7 months, I started giving him some snacks inbetween like cheerios or gerber yogurt melts or rice puffs. Good luck!
loribb (142 days ago) Hi, I started my LO on cereal at about 4 1/2 months, I thought she was ready, but not all babies are. Anyways, when I introduced baby food, she would have cereal in the AM (Barley, Rice or Oatmeal) and sometime in the afternoon she would have half a jar of vegetable or fruit. After a couple of weeks like that, she started looking for more food so I gave her two meals of baby food. Half a jar of fruit in for lunch and half a jar of vegetable for dinner.
Just don`t force the food on her and make sure you read her cues as to her hunger. Good luck with the feeding, it sure is an interesting time in their development!
~amy~ (142.1 days ago) I feed Joel solids in the afternoons! He normally gets a veggie than a fruit and then some juice!
