RowanSkysMom (953.8 days ago) Rowan was tested for lead at 12 months and it was horrible!! I thought they would do a finger prick, but they need more blood to do it. They actually used a ternicate and drew blood from her arms just like they would do for you or me. It was terrible, I`ve never seen her in more pain!
chevychic96 (954 days ago) They tested for this at his 12 month check up and it was optional
SunshineBaby1 (954 days ago) I think that`s pretty normal, especially depending where you live. Our pedi asks us the same round of questions everytime about where we live and they do certain tests based on the age of your house and how near you live to certain types of places. So that makes a difference. About half of the ladies in our group had those tests done around that time and it really depended on our living environments.
munchkinsmommie (954.4 days ago) This was at her 9 month check up.
munchkinsmommie (954.4 days ago) my doc said the hemoglobin was checking iron level. Since they are eating solids, they check to make their is high enough. My doc said any over 11 was good. Madison`s was 11.4. They did not check lead but I had a fill out paperwork with tons of questions to see if she is exposed any potential issues. I answered no to all so maybe that is why doc did not test for lead on her. Not sure.
BabyBsmomma (Joni) (954.4 days ago) my daughter also had hers done at her 1 year check up
sammy28 (954.4 days ago) thx for the insight so far...I am prob gonna question why they are doing at 9 months instead of 12. Thats what I thought
busymommyof3 (954.4 days ago) children are suppose to have this done and the 1 yr check up!!
KR (954.4 days ago) my children are tested for Hemoglobin on a regular basis because they have a blood disorder. But i think this could be a routine one.
megandgrace (954.4 days ago) Grace had hers done at her 12 month check up.
