I did during the day if they were sleeping next to me, when they could turn their necks then I did! They slept like `babies` lol

All 3 of mine slept on their tummies (naps only though, not through the night, Id make sure they were on their backs). I was ALWAYS within a few feet of them though and constantly checked their breathing lol They always sleep better on their tummies, for me.

I layed my son on his belly around 2 weeks old. He hated sleeping on his back so I didn`t force it. He`s 9 months old now and still sleeps on his tummy with his lil booty in the air.. its so cute.

I also think that some of the reason why my daughter slept on her stomach was because when she would fall asleep sometimes it would be facing us chest to chest. I`m going to try holding this baby a bit differently. I wouldn`t tell any mother to place the child on the tummy. If the parent decides to do that then it is for them to discover on their own. I remember even trying to lay her on her side but she would only stay there for a while. I told my ped and she was insistent on her sleeping on her back until the next time she saw me and I was a nervous, sleep deprived, shaking, dark eyed mess. I recommend to go by the experts recommendations.

I was told as soon as they can turn their heads form side to side it would be fine. Sids can happen at any time and there is no real prevention of it. I recently had a family member who had their newborn die and she was on her back. With my son I put him on his back at night then during the day I would have him lye on his tummy on a blanket near me so he wouldnt get flat spots on his head.

My daughter has always slept on her side, she just now at 6 months has started turning onto her belly while she is sleeping. I would try and try to put her on her back in the beginning but she just wasn`t comfortable and would not sleep.

neusha I know it sounds like a RISK.. and im sure others feel they are putting their children at risk by doing so and thats fine.. everyone has their own feelings on this subject. I DO put my daughter to sleep on her belly and at night she sleeps w/ me(so did my son, but I didnt put him on his belly ever) But ive done a lot of research on it.. and i just feel like the `EXPERTS` dont really know what causes sids truthfully..Im sure MOST of us have slept on our bellys GARENTEED be cause WHY? because experts thought thats what was safe?? SIDS rates have NEVER been high in america.. EVER.. do the research.. maybe think about how other countrys have different lifestyles, etc who knows what really causes it.. I dont feel like im chancing anything.. I feel like letting my child decide how she most feels comfortable.. And she loves sleepin on her belly.. and so did i : P

I cant vote because your comments don`t coincide with my response. My daughter would only sleep on her stomach. We tried every day but with no success. We got to the point where if we wanted to get some sleep we would have to put her on her stomach. We were scared every night and would check her in the morning but she was always so happy from getting a good nights sleep. With this new baby when he gets here we will try again to place him on his back. In newborn class our instructor said that she placed both of her children on their stomachs because of the same reason. I do believe that we have progressed in research with sids.

  5. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!

  8. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.

  10. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
