Oh and I don`t like the gate idea if you are potty training, you want them to have axcess to the bathroom and you if they need you. I also agree with chrissy-511. I try that with my 9 month old.

I moved my son at 1-1/2 to his own bed, but it was in my room at first. Then at 2 I moved him into his own room, and I don`t know if I am going to get crap for this, but he has a tv in his room and lays there and watches tv until he goes to sleep. You can put a timer on it, or just give them books or a toy and tell them it is bed time and they need to stay in bed. I constantly have to tell Malachi to go back to bed.

If I shut the door he can`t get out, But I dont want him in there if he is distraught. I will try moving him in there once he is asleep. Thanks.

Place him in his room with a baby gate in the door way if you are really desperate. Alternately, try moving him after he has gone to sleep.
