ayla 0327 (775.5 days ago) amy i think you are very stubborn first of all alot of mothers are afraid to sleep at night because they do know how many babies die of sids its a natural thing and unless you have lost your baby to sids you would`nt know anything about it and there is a reason they are labeling everything sids safe my daughter died because she turned on her stomach on a softer mattress and suffocated in it so it does happen and i`d rather my child have a flat head and be a little uncomfortable sleeping than dying.
~amy~ (945.8 days ago) also it has decreased because they are correctly labeling infant deaths these days. Before everything was a SIDS death.. now they correctly identify it as suffocation, etc.
~amy~ (945.8 days ago) yes.. fear mongering. They have mothers too terrified to sleep at night for fear that their babies are going to stop breathing. Yes there are things you can do to "help". But labeling everything "SIDS SAFE" and all that other BS is rediculous.. it's just a money market. Use commen sense when buying things for your baby. My LO likes a soft mattress because that is what he has been sleeping on since he was born. When I moved him to his crib he tossed and turned all night until I softened the mattress. You wonder why all the babies heads are flat these days...
~amy~ (945.9 days ago) oh and the crib has bumpers.. *gasp* lol!
~amy~ (945.9 days ago) I looked all over for a soft mattress! I couldn`t find one. I ended up getting a quilted mattress pad and cutting it down to fit for my babies crib. Soft beds have nothing to do with SIDS. Babies don`t sufficate in a mattress- puffy pillow and blanket maybe but not a mattress. My LO slept in my bed with my THICK memory foam mattress topper for months. Nothing happened. I wish everyone would stop with the fear mongering with this sids stuff... they don`t really know what causes it. In reality EVERYTHING could probably cause sids.. sorry guess I`m just upset cause I spent hours and hours looking for something to make my LOs bed soft.
canadababy (945.9 days ago) Babies don`t need a soft mattress, I wouldn`t even consider getting one.
