I do it at every feeding, unless I smell poop/know she`s pooping, then I change it right away. So far it`s worked well for us. Now that our LO is 9.5 months we can skip it at maybe one feeding. The diapers have been well used by then but not saturated and about to leak. That`s been my experience.

yes, every couple of hours, esp now that she is 15 months. Or obviously if she poops then right away. She doesn`t wet her diapers as quickly/often these days.

I would love to use cloth diapers but I know realistically i hate laundry and i have 5 people in my house hold already and another on the way. I know it would end horribly with stinky diapers piling up. I totally commend women who can do it.. with three boys .. just not an option for me unfortunately. I also wonder how they are for babies with sensitive skin?

Pooka: regular cloth inserts do HORRIBLE at night. So during the day we use regular cloth inserts inside her gdiaper and at night we use a much heavier tri-fold. it is good from about 9pm-2am. then i change her, put another heavy tri-fold in and she is good til 7am. if the tri-folds werent SO bulky, i would use them 24/7.

5agaisnt1 how do cloth do at night I was always curious if they worked well or if people opt to use disposables at night or get up to change?

i think it depends on the baby, for my baby, every couple of hours is waaay too long bc he pees at least once an hour, but maybe for other babies it wouldnt be that bad. if its just barely wet, i usually dont change it yet bc i dont notice, but once i notice its wet i change it, sometimes that takes more than one pee. usually its about once an hour, sometimes more or less, and he sleeps all night so i dont change it at night.

no but your wording is confrontational when your all shocked the majority doesn`t change for a couple of hours. Its not like your getting up every hour every night to change a diaper either. Daytime is no different.

they are sitting in pee. and i have felt the diaper after she wets. i use pampers swaddlers and it`s not `wet` but defenitely damp and in my opinion - uncomfortable. but again it`s just my opinion and i`m not inciting confrontation.

avaan-does that also apply to during the night? because then u would be changing atleast 5 diapers when she sleeps so she will not be sitting in her urine...i do about every 2 hrs because cloth doesnt hold as long and once during the night when she eats, but she doesnt wake up thru it.

they aren`t sitting in pee.. you ever felt a diaper been peed in.. its dry on the inside against them cause the pee is on the inside of the diaper. I chance every few hours or when its noticeably puffy. My son is 15 months he doesn`t pee as often as he once did. Or of course when he stinks, before bed, before naps etc.

I change Jakey every time before he eats so he can fall asleep comfortably after his nice warm bottle... or if he poops of course.

i change everytime it`s soiled. pee or poop. i wouldnt want to sit in my urine or feces.

When Kara was in diapers part time before 5 months as soon as it was wet I would change it.

I change Joel before he eats which is every two hours.
