arkansastechmommy (943.5 days ago) I am taking my online classes through the local college. I do know that there is alot of good online schools out there that you can find. Google it, then do some research. Yes, I`ve taken online classes (along with traditional classes) for the past 3 semesters. Blondie- I wouldn`t really say it would be a waste of time, or money... like happy forest said anything is better than nothing, and as far as money goes, you only pay for what you take, so it wouldn`t really be wasting.
Trbaby- I`ll admit, online classes (or atleast all of the ones I have taken) are alot harder than normal classes. You have to be VERY self-disciplined, which I wasn`t at first. A couple years ago, was the first time I ever attempted an online course, and I dropped it, because I just didnt have the discipline. Now- I`m much different. And, yes. you have deadlines.

I decided to stick with my local community college which has a campus pretty much next door to my house so I can take evening classes and not drive too far. they also offer lots of online classes at $63 a class. It`s good for now so I can finish some pre-req`s to my degree. In the summer I limit my classes to 2 because they are typially hybrid classes, meaning they cram 18 weeks of material into 7 weeks. So it`s very fast paced and lots of work. Check into your community collge for online classes. If you go through ones on the internet, be very careful, make sure they are fully accredited.
TR-Baby2 (943.6 days ago) Are there certain places that you guys prefer to take classes from?? I really don`t know much (obviously!) about on-line schooling but would just LOVE to be able to do something like that!! Please feel free to offer your suggestions, and advice!!
I`ll be working full-time, and maybe even a part-time job on the side, so from what I`ve read from you guys, I`d better start of with only one or two classes! Do they give dead-lines for having work completed, etc.?? Do tell!
AngieP (943.6 days ago) I took many online classes and they were WAY more work than a regular class. Wow. They really pile it on when you do it online. I would definitely start out with 2 (maybe 3) depending on what type of classes they are. I`m going to look into online classes to get my bachelors. I`m half way there with my associates.
pooka (943.6 days ago) I`m doing my courses online and stick to two because usually online courses have hours of reading every week. I found it a lot with a baby. But that`s just me. Its different then going to class and having that dedicated time. It takes great discipline to put aside the time when you have dishes, laundry, kids, etc.. that come first.
athenaB1984 (943.6 days ago) Have you taken online classes before? If you haven`t I would start with 1 or 2..you never know how hard these teachers will be or the material. I took two online classes when I was a SAHM and I found it kind of overwhelming because I was so tired and even thoguh I was at home, I seemed not to have enough time. Eventually I learned about the teachers at my school and what to expect. I work full time now, I will be taking 3 classes this fall. My job is laid back and I can do all my school work..at work, lol. My best advice is, just make sure you know what you can handle with online classes, it seems as they give more work when you`re doing online.
happyforest (943.7 days ago) I`m a SAHM with an 8 month old, he doesnt go and will NOT go to daycare, and im going back to school this fall, but only going half time (6 hrs) bc im afraid if i take on too much i will do bad, but if i take just a little i will have time to concentrate on each class well and do really good!! 6 hrs is all you have to take for aid and loans. the way i see it, anything i can do is better than nothing! even if i have to do it a little slower, at least im finishing. i got 2 yrs out of the way before i got preg, so im a little over half way done.
