happyforest (942.9 days ago) i`ve heard of it, it has been done all over the world for thousands of years and is still done in some places. also, all other mother mammals eat theirs, so yes i have heard of it, but i wouldnt do it! i dont care or judge others though if they do, its theirs and so is their body so do whatever makes you feel best IMO!
zookeeper (943.1 days ago) Eat one?!?! Ha. I`ve never even looked at one! I can`t believe the doctors even asked if I wanted to see it - I can`t imagine them asking if I wanted to take it home! yuck!
Lou-Li-Ro (943.3 days ago) It`s supposed to be really, really good for the mother to eat it, because it is full of the nutrients that baby was feeding off while in the womb, and it boosts the mother`s own nutrition after pregnancy, labour and delivery. It is actually quite a shame that the use of it has died out, because it would be very good for the mother!...but I still don't think I could do it!
snoopynicole0613 (943.3 days ago) yeah i have heard of some people doing it...like i was watching birth day or a baby story or something and this woman did the all natural thing and then after she had the baby....oh wait i think it was deliver me...yeah yeah thats it lol...anyways after she had the baby the doc gave her the placenta in a doggie bag and they were goin to give it to someone to dry it out and put it into powder to put in a pill!!!! i still thinks it is freakin GROSS! Have you seen what a placenta looks like??? OMG eeewww. i know i know it is the main life support of our babies but it still isn`t pretty lol but if your culture does it that is fine with me BUT i will never do it and i could NEVER watch someone else do it......gag......sorry lol
mdbabyno1 (943.5 days ago) Oh my, i was at a cocktail party, and a girl I was talking to(she had a baby about the same age as mine) flat out said `oh, did you eat your placenta?` i was in shock and said no! She proceeded to tell me she mixed it up and cooked it with eggs. I almost had a heart attack, it was a cocktail party!
sublimelbca7 (943.5 days ago) gross...The only thing i`ve ever heard was taking it home and digging a hole and planting it with a tree. It`s kinda like a tree of life. It`s kinda a cool idea.
yorkc39 (943.5 days ago) that would never help with post partum depression, please! old wives tale if u ask me! thats just sick cannibalism
megeanua (943.6 days ago) I was watching a baby story on tv a couple of days ago and the family requeseted to keep their placenta. They knew someone who could then turn it into a pill form, that the mom was planning to take to keep her health up and help with post pardum depression...seemed very strange to me.
amber325 (943.7 days ago) eww god no!I laughed and said mine looked like an uncooked Melborne steak at outback ( the 22 oz steak they offer lol)
brendalee (943.7 days ago) They do that in scientology.
BethSilva (943.7 days ago) My mom is a labor nurse and well people request all kinds of wierd things!! Yes it`s true they request to take the placenta home and they eat it. I think it`s a culture thing!! I agree sooo f-ing grose!

blondiex2 (943.7 days ago) People? Yuckkkk! I know animals do, I`ve heard that cats eat it after it comes out. Never heard of people though! Was this all different people all over or like in a certain country/tribe/etc.?
~amy~ (943.7 days ago) I thought that it was given to the mother way back in the day if she lost a ton of blood during the delivery??
