luvbeingamom (942.6 days ago) it is recommended not to use one before 4 years and 40lbs. Though they are made for a lower weight. Which i don`t get! However, it is suggested (safer option) to use a 5pt harness carseat as long as physically possible (8yrs, 80lbs). There are currently 2 seats on the market that even give you that option. They are both made my Britax. The frontier and the Regent. I have the Regent for my 4 yr old now and will be getting one for my younger son soon. From what i was told (I have friends taht work at the insurance institute for highway safety, they do the crash tests), they would put adults in 5 pt harnesses if they could. Car seat belts are rarely used correctly, even by adults and fail far to much. Thanks everyone for answering. i was just wondering what `common knowledge` was.
mamaofaj (942.6 days ago) all the ones ive seen are from like 35-40+ lbs. I`ll be glad when my daughter can use just a regular booster seat, i hate car seats lol!
