A woman on here had confirmed swine flu at 33 weeks, and my friends sister in law is currently 14 weeks pregnant and shes also survived it. It is very frightening though, the media hype it all up. It is bad, there is no denying that, but reality is its no worse than normal seasonal flu if it affects a person who is otherwise healthy. It is more dangerous in people who have underlying medical issues. I know how scary it is, as I am terrified. There is talk here of schools and nurseries remaining closed after the summer because of the outbreak, and I am terrified to send my son to nursery so I really hope they do stay closed. The government warning issued here this morning advised pregnant women to avoid large gatherings and public transport, so I am following that advise and will not be spending time in large groups for the time being.
