loribb (936.8 days ago) My 8 month old always squirms when I change her, I try to give her something to amuse herself with and that usually helps a little. She loves having another clean diaper to examine, so I usually give her one of those, or her diaper rash cream container.
MrCheeks23 (936.8 days ago) i agree with happy forest...i give my son the nose sucker or some sort of lotion bottle...hes normally fine...or i jsut sing spongebob squarepants song haha
kottonkurlz (937.1 days ago) I talked very sternly to my daughter and showed her my disappointment. She quickly understood. Squirming while I change your poopy diaper is unacceptable in my book.
Military~mommy (937.1 days ago) Lol, my daughter is almost 15 months and she squirms, but often handing her my cell phone or baby powder makes her stop long enough to change her, but not always!
butterblocksmom (937.2 days ago) Oh yeah, Happy...exactly...something he thinks is `special`...that works wonders!
happyforest (937.2 days ago) i always give him something to hold, but it cant be a toy, it has to be something hes not supposed to have, like the baby lotion bottle, or hand sanitizer bottle, nose sucker, etc.
RobinG (937.2 days ago) Do you use a changing table? My kids only gave me a hard time when they werent on it but always did good when they were since they are more restricted and cant get away :) I still use mine with hunter who is 21 months :)
luvbeingamom (937.3 days ago) At about 10 months i very firmly told my son to stop while i changed his diaper. I think once i patted his behind when i said it and that was it. He knowsnow to lay there until i tell him to get up. (now he is 21 months).
KR (937.3 days ago) My 7 month old is always moving when i change her.. My son whos 2 though knows when its time to get changed.. I will say *diaper* and he will lay down in front of me and then get up when finished.. he says diaper too after a shower and will go lay down in his room with his towel and wait!! lol.. Maybe teach the word diaper and get them to lay down.. keep saying it over and over each time you do it so they get a routine about it.
butterblocksmom (937.3 days ago) Distraction and speed are key. Do you ever give her a zerbert on her belly? Or with a clean diaper, cover her eyes and then play peekaboo? Or a rattle....they LOVE rattles!!! You can do these things AND still be undoing, cleaning and replacement of the diaper...
