Right now, WE have thrush. She doesn`t have any spots in her mouth and just a few tiny spots on her butt. BUT, my nipples are cracked, bleeding, fire engine red, and itchy. So, that is how I know `we` have it. It hurts very badly to nurse her.

To add to what everyone else has said it can also cause a lot of gas and a diaper rash. Keep in mind that thrush is a yeast infection and doesn't always show up in a baby's mouth. If you are breastfeeding, you can have the symptoms of thrush without seeing visible signs of it on your baby.

white patches on tongue and/or cheeks - try wiping it out with a wash cloth and if it doesn`t come off, it possibly could be thrush.

Grace had two white patches/raised circles in her mouth and a bad diaper rash so we went to the doctors and we caught it really early on. Even before i could catch it, i am very glad i didn`t get it because i heard thats painful!

she would be cranky, and have a white patch on her tounge.
