nutnut (936 days ago) i took hydroxycut back when it had efedra in it, or whatever it was called. it wasnt good for me. i would seriously crash after taking them all day and i would forget to eat. all i did was drink. its not healthy and i dont suggest diet pills unless you talk to a dr first. you need to be sure youre healthy enough for them and what would work best for you. most dr. will not advise diet pills if you are not morbidly obese. talk to the dr. diet and excercise might be all you really need.
Aiona (936.2 days ago) I lost a lot of weight for health reasons back in 2003 (and kept it off). No pills. We just changed our way of eating, and for a while I went to the gym with husband (It helped to have someone to goad you into going when you don`t want to!!!!) about 3 times a week for weight lifting (treadmill bores me). It doesn`t work for everyone, but it really worked for us. (Husband lost a lot too, and stopped needing his medications to control blood sugar and blood pressure.) Biggest thing we did was cut out sugar-containing sodas, stopped eating so much pasta and bread, ate a lot more vegetables and meat instead. We also stopped eating out as much as we were -- very inconvenient given our work schedules, but it paid off both monetarily and healthwise.
Of my friends and coworkers who have been on diet pills, they lost weight, but as soon as they were off the pills, they gained it back again. (Lifestyle changes seem to be more lasting.)
Bvartanian88 (936.3 days ago) I take Adipex. I`ve lost a lot of weight! It comes off so fast in the beginning for some people, but then it slows. It's prescription only, talk to your doctor about it.
Luis and Rosalanis Mami (936.5 days ago) if you talk to your doctor, almost any doctor will tell you diet and excercise will work, diet pills are really bad for you and can hurt you, my friend took some diet pills that they advertise and i warned her about this, she took them for a week and after the first 3 days her stomach was in so much pain. I did read in a magazine today (because i`m trying to lose weight also) diet downfalls and how to fix them, here are a few things i read:
diet downfall 1.you follow the plan that worked for your friend - undo the damage : the trick to losing weight and keeping it off is to find a diet you like, that way you`ll be able to stick with it, some people yearn for meat dishes and some are carboholics (like me lol) carboholics should go with a mediteranean diet, fiber rich complex carbs help control hunger. carnivores can eat a heavy protein diet like atkins as log as the meats are primarily lean meats, turkey burgers, roast chicken and baked fish.
diet downfall 2. you eat a small breakfast. eating a large breakfast can help you lose some serious weight. ninety women were put on a low calorie diet, half the women had a big breakfast (610 calories) and half the women had a more modest breakfast (290 calories). in eight months the group thqat ate the larger breakfast on average lost 40 lbs, their smaller breakfast counterparts dropped 10 lbs. - undo the dammage aim for 500 calories, if you are not hungry it is likely you are eating too much or too late at night, to get your appetite in sync, close your kitchen by 8 pm.
Keep a food log, people who keep food logs are more contious(sp?) about what they eat, and the calories they are taking in.
diet downfall 4. you skip meals - undo the damage: try to go no more than 4 hours without eating something, that way you are less likely to overdo it at the next meal, have whole grain snacks, yogurt or a peice of fruit.
This is just a few things that i read, hope you find it helpful, i would write some more but i would be writing all night lol and i would take up all the space! Good Luck!
