nutnut (930.3 days ago) it depends. what i got wasnt `maternity leave` it was `short term disability` which paid 60% of my paycheck for 6 weeks. i also was forced to take all of my vacation (2 weeks left) plus any personal and sick time (another 60 hours). i didnt get the short term until the day i actually had the baby. so i worked as close to the due date as i could, took all my sick and personal, and only ended up loosing two days of getting paid when all was said and done. i was out for more like 9 weeks instead of 6. i couldve stayed otu longer FMLA but that is not paid. check with your HR dept. they will explain to you what you need to do, and what you get paid for
Love.Nora (930.4 days ago) I have looked this up for my husband as well. You need to look up the state regulations on `leave` and then also check with your employment human resources because alot of companies have diffrent policies on how you can take the time off. We live in KS and my husband work for a very large foundation however they do not do time off with pay unless you save up your holiday or PTO (paid time off days). He can take the time off but if he does not have saved PTO then he would be taking time off with no pay. The state does not require for his job to pay during this leave of absence.
heathert (930.4 days ago) sweet are you returning to work after baby? I am also having them take double insurance out for the 2.5 months I will be back at work soon.
mikey and cjs mommy (930.5 days ago) i live in CA and we get 4weeks of leave with pay BEFORE baby is born and 6weeks after. the pay however is through SDI (state disability insurance) and not the employer. after the 6 weeks runs up we can then get 6 weeks of paid family leave. it is kinda like FMLA where you get it for bonding time or to take care of a sick love one...but that too goes through the SDI department. i know some employers offer leave with a percentage of your pay but it just depends on if your employer offers that. i would talk to your HR department.
armymom (930.5 days ago) Do you work as contract or as a GS (government service worker)? GS`s have different levels of expertise from GS1-15. When I was in the army myself I worked with alot of GS and contract workers in the hospital pharmacy. Seems like GS5+ recieve 12 weeks paid maternity leave if they have worked as a GS for 3+ years. Contract workers vary depending on their particular company. You`re leadership should be able to answer that question clearly for you.
sweet-ladi (930.5 days ago) I will get paid 60% of my income through short term disability for 6 weeks. When I go back to work though, they will take out a little more from each check to catch up on insurance.
heathert (930.5 days ago) I will not get paid while off work besides my short term didability. I have to pay my part of insurance while off since I will have no check for it to come out of.I work for the school district.
