*jellybean2* (929 days ago) in the uk most children`s centre`s have a baby massage group every week. we started going when Lily was 3 weeks old and it is a good part of her nighttime routine now. We do bath, massage, story, breastfeed, bed. It does work wonders and I will be recommending it to every new parent when I ajm a midwife.
♥ ħhlЄy ▫ ßєär ®♥ (929.5 days ago) i took a class in infant massage:) I give my two boys massages all the time! It`s wonderful for them. Not only is it good physically but mentally as well. My 2 yr old is developmentally delayed a bit, and he is really in tune withhis sensory input. He loves loud noises and would spend all day banging on things if he could. Well, physical therapists use massage so he will get that sensory input `fulfilled` in a way..so that he isn`t so loud lol! It really calms him. I do it for 15-20 minutes every night after bath :)
california-mom (929.6 days ago) I dont do any real techniques. But after every bath/shower I get lotion out and give her a `baby spa massage` all over =) She loves it. I did it with all 3 of my babies.
athenaB1984 (929.6 days ago) The book shows certain techniques. No speacial lotion required. It`s to help circulate certain things in a babies body to help prevent sickness and infections. Constipation, colic and gas as well. It shows techniques you should you use appropriate with age group of child and what tells you what muscles are being worked and what it is helping. I really like the book, but like I said, it`s directed for mainly infants and young toddlers.
armymom (929.7 days ago) I`ve always rubbed lotion and massaged it in after giving my son a bath. I`m not exactly sure what your talking about. Is there a certain technique or something? I will continue to do it my way with my son and any future babies but I probably wouldn`t buy any special massage oils or anything like that if that`s what your talking about.
